Transcript - Bitwarden Basics:
  All right. I wanted to quickly go over some of the aspects of bitwarden and how to utilize it. So bitwarden is a password manager similar to something like Last Pass, which is the one that just got hacked. So I'm going to go over some of the basics of how to utilize it. I'm not gonna go in depth and I'm not gonna cover the the sign up process. So the first thing we will go through is. Getting the, the add-in added into Chrome. So you can just search for bit orden Chrome extension and just click the one that says goo chrome.google.com and then you'll get an option that says install and you can install it from there. Once it installs, you're gonna get this little icon right here and you'll make sure to click the pin icon next to bitwarden so that it shows. In the the, the top up here. So that's, that it stays pinned. Once you are once you have it pinned, you can click it and then you can sign up. And like I said, I'm not gonna cover that part. And so let's start with. Manually adding a site. So let's say you are coming to this site and you're signing up for it and you're using your you wanna make sure that it saves it. So we're gonna fill in test info, and then we'll come up here to generate a password. We'll click generate and then you'll just copy the, the password. , then you can right click and then paste or control V and paste. Now this field doesn't actually have this, this site is just a test site, so there's no submission. Normally you would click. To click next or, or submit to, to save your data. In this case, we're gonna manually sub manually save this. So we come up to bitwarden's icon, click add login. While we're on this site, we see that it says that it's saying seizes password bits.com. We see that it shows the URL we're on up here. So we would just come into our password field, right click and paste, and then we would just type in test info. we would click save. Now caveat with bit orden is if you exit this, if you're in a, if you're in a new item screen and you start typing something and then you click off of it to copy and you come back, it will, it will leave that screen. So make sure you do everything while you're within that one, while you're within the edit screen itself, if that makes sense. So now if we were to to refresh this, and click to fill it in. It should automatically fill in. So let's say you wanted to change the password for our website that you have. Well, you would, since every website is different, I can't really show you how it would happen on every website you're gonna run into, but you would get to the field the change password screen in your, on your website, you. Type in the new password you'd submit and then you would come into bitwarden. You can click the click, ah, sorry, my bad, . You can click to to view it. Then you can click edit, and then you enter in your new password. You click save and that. And then moving forward bit Orden will automatically use whatever password you just chose now. It, it will detect some, some login screens when you when you are on that screen to, to log in. Such as in this case we'll do test user. And then we'll just enter random password and we hit enter. And you get this should bitwarden. Remember this password for you. You can click save. And now you see a one pops up here. So the next time we're on this site, we click bitwarden and click the site itself and it'll autofill that information in. So you must be wondering how to auto fill. So without actually having to click. You can come into bit orden settings and that's actually at the top. Auto fill and check off, auto fill on page load. And we can leave the rest plank. So now if we refresh the page, it automatically fills it without us having to click anything and then you can sign in. So let's say you want to view a. So we click the bit orden icon. You click the view button, and now you can see all of your details. You can even delete clone item, autofill, autofill and Save. But we want a view. So let's say we want a view, we click toggle Visibility and it'll show us what the password is for that site. You can copy from here, copy the username. You can check if the password's been exposed, if you've got the premium. So I'll close out of this. So let's say you have a duplicate site, so we'll come back in here and do, let's do clone item. So now we've got a duplicate. So let's look at the fact that, hey, we've, we're scrolling through our list. We have a duplicate, well, we want to see which one's correct. So the way that we would test that, Is you would go to the web, you would go to the website. So you can click launch and it'll go to the website and it'll fill it in. You click sign in, and if it signs in, you know that one's good. And then what you can do is you can click the other one. Oops. You can click view on the other one, and then click delete item. Click delete item, and now it's deleted and you no longer have your. So this is basically the, the quick, quick and easy run through of the orden.
