Hotspot vs Wifi

Hotspot vs Wifi

I’ve now run into two people who didn’t seem to know the difference between a hotspot and wifi so I figured I’d explain. Hotspots are devices that provide a wireless or wired connection over the air, and through the cell towers. Much like tethering your computer to your Cell phone’s connection. Wi-fi is the wireless connection that comes from a router, usually wired into a modem which gets the connection from a wired connection such as cable or phone lines. So which is most stable? Assuming you have a good internet connection, andgood equipment then your wifi connection should be more stable. However, it’s always best to wire into the router whenever possible. Keep in mind, wiring into the hotspot is not the same as wiring into your home router as the hotspot comes over the air, while your home connection comes over cabling.
