Chromebooks, Tablets, Laptops and what you should consider
For those of you who don't know what a Chromebook is, it's an inexpensive laptop that runs Google's Proprietary operating system, ChromeOS. It is heavily focused on Google Apps and basic web surfing. If you're looking for something cheap, light, fast and are constantly around an internet connection, the Chromebook may be for you. If you use Google Chrome, check out their app launcher, as this is pretty much the heart and soul of the Google chromebook. For work or personal usage where you aren't using web based apps, I would avoid a chromebook. If you want a middle ground of a chromebook and a full desktop operating system without sacrificing desktop apps and security, consider installing Chromixium which is a Linux desktop operating system that mixes Ubuntu with Chrome OS. Safe, Secure, Fast.
As far as tablets (and laptops). These days, there are a ton of different tablets available, Android, Windows and iOS (I don't recommend iOS due to being limited in functionality). Which one to get will depend on your needs and wants. If you don't need Windows, then Android will do the job, in which case, take a look at the Samsung Note or Galaxy Tab Series. If you need Windows, consider the hardware in it. It will all come down to your needs.
